Every item has its own shape
The bag stopped being a wall of symbols. Every piece shows up as what it is — and the item sheet shows it turning, as large as you care to look.
Opening the bag meant facing a grid of near-identical symbols. Two different swords had the same drawing; the health potion and the mana potion were the same flask; thirteen materials shared three symbols between them.
Now every item shows up as the piece it is — in the bag, in what you wear, in the shop, at the auction, in the vault and on the ground. Sixty-nine of the realm's seventy-eight pieces already have a shape of their own:
- Weapons and shields — the same piece your vassal wields, in miniature.
- Helmets, armour and quivers — the same ones he wears.
- Potions and the canteen, told apart by the belly of the flask and the colour inside.
- Tomes, with cover, clasp and rune; scrolls come rolled.
- Materials — hide, fang, ore, essence and shard, each with its own look. No more three identical stones with different names.
The item sheet
Clicking an item opens its sheet, and there the piece appears large and turning. That is where you can see the edge of an axe, the carving on a stave or the gem in an amulet before deciding whether it is worth the weight in your bag.
What is still a symbol
Nine pieces still carry the old drawing — the ones that have not been given a shape yet. They arrive a few at a time, and the Compendium shows exactly the same ones the game does: if you see the piece here, you see it in the game.
